What happens when you start being NICE to yourself

Wonders what being NICE is? It is simply – being kind, generous, agreeable, pleasant, respectable, friendly, forgiving and tactful. Nice is a small word but with big implications.

Most of us were brought up to believe that taking care of others needs, putting others first, ignoring our own needs and being selfless, would bring us happiness. But the truth is: only when you are happy and at peace with yourself, you can make others feel the same.

Here are 5 things that will happen when you start being nice to yourself:

1.  You will be happier

You can only make yourself happy. Do not do anything to make others happy by simply ignoring yourself. When you are at peace with yourself, you are more open to yourself and find that you are enjoying all the small things in life. You give to others because you want to, not because you feel obliged or forced to. You become a happier person and others around you too will feel the same.

2. You will have better relationships

The more you accept yourself for who you are, the more you accept others for who they are too. When you are truly authentic, nice and happy with yourself, you will attract more similar people in your life too. Happy, genuine, kind and generous friends, don’t we all want that! The more you love yourself, the more you love others and the more they will love you.

3. Self confidence and ambitious

If you do not feel that you deserve anything wonderful, you will not allow yourself to have it. When you love yourself for the way you are, without hiding your true SELF, confidence is guaranteed to show up. Being nice and kind to others also brings in more confidence. It makes us feel good about ourselves and also leads to build up a positive self image and hope in life.

4. Inspire others

By being you, you can express yourself and can inspire others who are lacking self confidence. You can let them know that it is okay to be themselves, whoever they are and follow what their heart says.

5. Less stress and more productive

When you are happy with yourself and enjoy your life, this helps to reduce stress. Less stress makes you more productive too.
